Happy Wednesday everyone,

As I continue to reflect on my less than stellar race performance from this weekend, I keep thinking about the injury and how it has affected me. So, I thought that a few quotes on the subject would be appropriate.

“Reject your sense of injury and the injury itself disappears.”

“If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but to your own estimate of it; and thus you have the power to revoke at any moment.”

-Marcus Aurelius

We all have the power to get through injury and to reject its effects on us.

Be strong. Be positive. Don't unclip. Never give up!

Friends,

Today's quotes are about strength.

“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.”
-Mahatma Gandhi

“Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.”
-Og Mandino

"If God sends us on strong paths, we are provided strong shoes.”
-Corrie TenBoom

And two thoughts about personal issues that I have been struggling with recently:

“Some people think it's holding on that makes one strong- sometimes it's letting go.”
-Anonymous

"Strength is the ability to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands - and then eat just one of those pieces”
-Judith Viorst

That was then, this is now. Do what needs to be done. Be strong. Don't unclip. Never give up!

Happy Fourth of July!
I have been on the road for a week and away from my bikes. Aargh! So, I am doing what I hate to do: I have been running. To be fair, I always put in some miles before the Worlds since it starts witha "Le Mans Start" where competitors have to run about 1/4 mile or more to their bikes.

Today's thoughts are about adaptation and acceptance. This week I had to adapt my training routine to a new discipline, and I have had to make several changes in the last year as well. Be flexible.

"The survival of the fittest is the ageless law of nature, but the fittest are rarely the strong. The fittest are those endowed with the qualifications for adaptation, the ability to accept the inevitable and conform to the unavoidable, to harmonize with existing or changing conditions"
-Author unknown

“Keep on the lookout for novel ideas that others have used successfully. Your idea has to be original only in its adaptation to the problem you're working on.”
-Thomas Edison

“Only by acceptance of the past, can you alter it.”
-T. S. Eliot

"Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery.”
-Joanne Kathleen Rowling

Be successful in everything you do!

Mary,

Thanks for your comments. I am so fortunate to have family support and a loving sister. You are an awesome pit crew chief as well. So, let's plan on doing the 24 Hours at the Old Pueblo again next year again. OK?

Pass the word about my Canmore race too!

All my love

Hi all. Busy today getting ready for the Worlds! I have not been able to train as iontensely as I would have liked. No matter, I will make it happen!

Today's thoughts are about sharing. These two come from my mom:

"Happiness shared is doubled. The pain from sadness shared is cut in half."

"Sharing is loving."

Here are a few more thoughts about sharing:

“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
-Prince Gautama Siddharta, founder of Buddhism

“Share everything. Don't take things that aren't yours. Put things back where you found them.”
-Robert Fulghum, author of one of my favoriite books, "All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten"

Be good to each other. It is difficult when others are not understanding, but that is their problem. Be bigger than them. We have lots to offer. Never forget that!

Be strong, don't unclip, never give up!

And share.

I can attest to that......accept that I should have learned it a bit earlier in life. Just my Journey I guess!

Nine days to the Worlds in Canmore and I am having some doubts.

I really want to do well. Voltaire is credited with saying something like "Doubt is uncomfortable, certainty is ridiculous." So I guess that I can let a little self-doubt work to my advantage.

So today's theme is Doubt and the fact that you can still overcome it.

"Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.”
-William Shakespear

"When in doubt, gas it!"
-Greg Herbold, mountain bike racer

"Doubt is the beginning, not the end of wisdom."
-Anonymous

"When you doubt your power, you give power to your doubt.”
-Anonymous

"Doubt yourself and you doubt everything you see. Judge yourself and you see judges everywhere. But if you listen to the sound of your own voice, you can rise above doubt and judgment. And you can see forever.”
-Nancy Lopez, pro golfer. Her thoughts are profound. I love them all.

OK, enough doubt. Now it is time to be Raisin Hell!

I won't stop. I will never give up. I will remain clipped in!

Hi Randy, Doubt enables growth and progress if you also have faith. (I know you have faith in abundance!) Faith helps you maintain a positive outlook and pushes you to pursue your dreams/goals. In your own works: "I won't stop. I will never give up. I will remain clipped in!" Take care. Love, Pat
