Hi all,

I just came back from the Idyllwild 24-hour Mountain Bike Spring Classic here in SoCal. No, I did not race this year. I volunteered and provided support to my team and to my son who raced with a few friends. My son's team came in second in their class.

I have been away from the computer for a bit but came across these quotes from Winston Churchill I wanted to share:

Hi Lorrie,

It is always difficuly when I hear that one of my "brothers" or their loved ones did not have a good day. Somehow words alone do not convey the feelings that I have whenever I hear that Randal had some tough days. I know that the both of you will remain strong.

I cannot wait to see you both at the Raisin Hope ride in Dalton.

Thanks for showing me the way. You are the one who is an inspiration. As a parent (and recently a grandparent again) I can learn a lot from you! You and Randal are my heroes.

Thanks for all the encouraging words. Randal goes through these spells has had a couple good days now and we are always grateful for them. Can't wait to meet you Randy at the Raisen Hope Ride.

Glad to hear that Randal is has had a string of good days.

This was one of the most difficult things to deal with during my recovery. I have good days and think I have finally turned the corner only to be faced with a string of not-so-good "downer" days that snap me back into a funk. I still have these off-days and they are still not easy to reconcile. But, you know what, even through it all my family and my grandchildren are still happy to have me around, good days and not so good.

And I love them for that. So, I will deal with the not-so-good days.

I can't wait to meet Randal and the rest of the family. You are all doing a great job!

If I am in the area before the ride, I will let you know.

Thank you for sharing and welcome! Saul's book touched me as it did you, but in a different way and from a different perspective. While Saul's injury was more severe than mine, our experiences have been very similar as we go through our individual recoveries. As have the experiences of our families. It seems that all of us share a common bond and we are always there for each other.
